South Carolina Appleseed Legal Justice Center would like to thank everyone who made our 2012 Advocate of the Year Award such a tremendous success. Our award recipient, The Honorable Richard W. Riley was perhaps our most deserving recipient so far, and nothing highlighted that more effectively than the fantastic introduction given by our board chair, Chris Koon. It is hard to say which was more remarkable – that Secretary (Governor? Class President? Granddad?) Riley has accomplished so much in his life or that Chris managed to track so much of it down.
SC Appleseed also wishes to thank our staff and board. Everyone pitched in in some way to make the night such a grand success, but we would be remiss not to single out the efforts of Pat Saad, our wonderful office manager, and board members Ernie Peagler and Graham Newman who made up our fundraising committee.
We had a great time at 701 Whaley and everyone enjoyed the food provided by Anna Cline Catering. Last, but definitely not least, we want to thank our sponsors for this year’s event. This was our best fundraiser so far and their contributions allow us to continue helping those most in need. Fulfilling our mission would be impossible without their generous contributions.
